2008 – The (unofficial) Year of the Bible

It has recently struck me how this is a landmark year for the Bible from the vantage point of the publishing industry. Many already know about the upcoming release of both the NLT Study Bible and the ESV Study Bible but there are many other significant releases this year. It is quite astounding:

  • -Check out The NLT Study Bible blog or join NLT Study Bible facebook
  • -The ESV Study Bible
  • -Ryrie Study Bible 30 year celebration and relaunch
  • -NIV 30 year celebration and relaunch
  • -Thomson Chain Reference Bible celebrates 100 years
  • -The Voice project quietly releases the New Testament
  • -NKJV Study Bible second edition revised, updated, relaunch
  • -The Word of Promise getting Christian book of the year (eventhough it is audio and not a book)
  • other honourable mentions:

  • -Orthodox Study Bible
  • -The NKJV Chronological Study Bible
  • -The NRSV Green Bible
  • -NRSV Discipleship Bible
  • -BPG gets rights to God’s Word Translation
